Hello Parents and Guardians of the Cranbrook Skating Club!

We are super excited to be putting on a full carnival this year! Our Theme is The Greatest Show on Ice! This is based off of the Greatest Showman! If you and your skater’s have not seen this amazing movie, we highly suggest you do! Its a great family movie with incredible music!

The Dress Rehearsal will be April 24th Time TBA

The Show will be April 25th Time TBA

Location – Western Financial Place

The Club has purchased props from Kootenay Dance Academy’s carnival production that they did a few years ago to make our ice surface look absolutely amazing. If any of you have been to a KDA production, you know that their stage sets are out of this world! A huge thank-you to Leslie Lindberg to giving us an amazing deal on her carnival set! We will attach a few pictures at the bottom of the page for you to see what it looks like!

Carnivals are all run by volunteers. So the more parents/guardians to help, the more successful this will be.

Please take some time below to fill out the following form so we can have all the information necessary to put on this amazing show!

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact the carnival coordinator Olivia Besanger at obesanger@shaw.ca (email only please).

  • Please provide a contact number that we can phone or text you at.
  • Please provide a secondary number to text or phone.
  • Please provide the following measurements for costume purposes. If you are unsure of where to measure - please see the website below for a visual how-to.
This position requires sitting with the skaters as a group during the ice show. Ensuring that all kids on the list are present. Taking them back "stage" for their skating numbers and returning and sitting with them after they have finished for the duration of the show.
An ice-show requires a whole community of parents to run. Please select any of the following that you are able to help with.
  • As the Cranbrook Skating Club is a not-for-profit Organization, we try our very best to keep costs to a minimum. However, carnivals do require a lot to put on financially. We also try to keep costume fees to a very minimum for everyone. We also try to keep the costume process as painless as possible for everyone. If funds are available, we order costumes online from a costuming company and we only charge WHOLESALE price for each skater. Other costs include ice fees for the show, rehearsals, set-up and take-down, decorations, concessions, program printing, rental of lighting and announcement equipment and more. Do you have a business that would be willing to give a monetary donation for our ice-show? These businesses will all be announced during the show, printed in our program and thanked in our social media and other media outlets. If so, it would be greatly appreciated. If you feel comfortable approaching your place of work if you do not have your own business or a friend/family business owner we would so much appreciate this. Please let us know if you require a letter of sponsorship to provide and we can email you one. Please provide quick line to us if this is possible. Thank-you!!!!
As mentioned, we do our best to keep costume costs to a bare minimum. However, there will be costs associated with costuming. Please check the box below to indicate that you are aware that there may be some costs associated with your skater's costuming for the carnival. This will be a maximum of $30.00
