Fees and Requirements for the 2018/2019 Season:
The following forms of payment will be accepted from the Cranbrook Skating Club:
Cheques (post-dated and all due at time of registration – September/October/November or October/November/December depending on when the program commences) – No Exceptions.
Cash Payment – total due at time of registration.

The Cranbrook Skating Club tries it’s best to keep registration costs down so that we can remain affordable for any family that wishes to access skating lessons. In order to do this, we need to fundraise to help offset Ice Fees and coaching every year. Fundraising dollars also go towards improvements to our Club equipment and expenses with hosting Ice Shows. We are always looking for new ideas to raise money.
All Skaters are required to sell either $50 or $100 (5 or 10 raffle tickets, depending on level) for a chance to win $1000 and $500 in grocery cards. These tickets are given out at the time of registration and payment is due immediately. There is a family maximum of $200. We will have opportunities through-out the season to sell tickets as a Club.
All STARSKATERS (including STARSKATE GROUP) are required to participate in additional fundraising efforts over the course of the season (September 2017-March 2018).
In order to run a successful non-profit sports club VOLUNTEERING is very important! Volunteer opportunities will be posted online, on the bulletin boards throughout the season, and in the monthly newsletter.
- We require each family with a STARSKATE skater to contribute 15 hrs of volunteering over the course of the season. A $200 cheque dated March 31, 2018 is required at registration, and will be returned or destroyed if the complete requirement is fulfilled. Volunteering at the Regional Competition in Creston also is counted towards your commitment.
- We require each family with a GROUP STARSKATE skater to contribute 10 hrs of volunteering over the course of the season. A $100 cheque dated March 31, 2018 is required at registration, and will be returned or destroyed if the complete requirement is fulfilled.
- We require each family with a CANSKATE/PRE-CANSKATE/POWERSKATE/ADULT SKATE to contribute 5 hrs of volunteering over the course of the season. A $75 cheque dated March 31, 2018 is required at registration, and will be returned or destroyed if the complete requirement is fulfilled.
For the 2018/2019 season, costume deposits will be required for full-year programs.
All Skaters (including POWER skate) wishing to participate in the year end Carnival will be required to notify the club of commitment NO LATER than March 15th, 2019. Costume details will be given the following week.
Cranbrook Skating Club Refund Policy
All prices and purchase invoices are in Canadian dollars. All club programs and services offered by the Cranbrook Skating Club are delivered in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada.
No refunds after you have participated in one or more sessions
Skate Canada membership and insurance fees are non-refundable
No refunds or make up lessons will be offered for lessons missed due to illness, holidays, management disputes or any reason other than an injury or medical condition supported by a doctor’s note. Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests for refund must be submitted prior to end of season. Any refunds will be subject to a $25 administration fee.
If a refund is granted, a cheque will be issued regardless of method of payment. The club will process all refunds within 30 days of the request, subject to the terms and conditions above.
No refund will be given if a skater leaves by his/her own accord or is expelled by the Club.
There will be a $30 service charge for all NSF cheques.
